Life journey of our ordinary family
Nice bread Marina! Did you try to make your own Nutella yet? It would be delicious with your home baked breads! ;) Check out my recipe here: http://gregoiremichaud.com/2012/05/homemade-nutella-pinot-noir-eiswein/
Thanks Gregoire! I am so exited to see your comment here! No, I haven't made my own Nutells yet, heading over to check the recipe. :)
When I was a student in Denmark I also was baking my very own bread and baguettes and I can confirm that all those kneading and the whole baking process can be some kind of meditation in motion but also a bit of physical activity as well;-) Now I use my bread making machine, so I still enjoy my very own bread, but the machine is doing all the work for me.
That's why I do my kneading by hands, to meditate and to work out my arms. :)Any physical activity I can get from wok around my kitchen is a big plus to me. :)
And your breads Marina look awesome but what I have to try to make is the strawberry chilli jam :)
Thanks Joanna, I will post about that jam soon...:)
Ohhhh how I love bread! Yours are beautiful!
Thanks Della! :)
I love experimenting with home made breads too! Plus they smell so good when they're baking! :D
That's another thing we have in common! :) There's no air freshener that could make my home smell better than baked bread, I agree! :)
Oh what fabulous bread, each loaf is wonderful. I must say I think dough hands are inherited. I didn't get the gene.
Thanks for your kind comment. I am sure you can practice and "develop" that gene, especially with all equipment available in our days. :) My first loaf wasn't that pretty not it was any soft... But I was very proud of it anyway, and kept going until I found my way to work the dough. :)
Nothing better then the smell of fresh bread baking! Looks so good!
Thank you Jess! And after the smell comes the taste, and nothing tastes better that freshly baked bread... :)
you have made me really want to try doing this again--such wonderful simple pleasures---thank you!!
Thanks Lynn for your comment. I am with you, it is a pleasure to make your own bread. It is hard to describe emotions when you pull out of the oven that golden loaf... :)
these look amazing bravo
Thanks Rebecca! And it's healthy too: all natural and organic...:)
Looks so good ... the smell of fresh baked bread it's so yummmy!!
Thanks Danutza! Yes, the smell is powerful! :)
Strawberry chili jam? Sounds yum! I love making bread too!
Yes, strawberry chili jam, I will post soon how I made it and why. :) Thanks for your comment, Jane! :)
They look so good! Nothing isbetter than home-made bread.
Thank you! There is something magical about home made bread... :)
Nice job Marina. Those breads look fantastic. What was in that first one, garlic or maybe a cheese? Makes me want to make some bread, I love the smell when it's cooking and then of course the eating it as well, LOL. Have wonderful Sunday.
Thanks Suzi! The first savory bread has dill, cottage cheese, and eggs. See the whole process here: http://www.picnicatmarina.com/2012/03/bread-day.html That bread I make quite often, everyone loves it, and when I don't make it for some time, my family reminds me...:) Have a great day!
Your breads look delicious. All the spreads look delicious, especially the last one! I have been thinking about buying a bread maker for awhile. Are all your breads made by hand? Do you ever use a bread maker?
Hi Sheila, Thanks for your compliments. No, I don't have a bread machine, it's all hand work. :) Few of my friends have bread machine and they like it. I do it old fashioned way, except I use stand mixer to mix all ingredients before kneading. :)
Nice pictures. I haven't made bread for quite some time. Part of the reason is I'm close to a decent bakery, so it's easy to buy quality stuff. And part of the reason is sheer laziness. No reason not to do it either, I have a good half pound or so of instant yeast in the freezer. Just need to do it.
Thanks John. Can you tell me why do you keep your instant yeast in the freezer? I keep it in the kitchen cabinet, maybe I should freeze it too?
All these breads looks awesome!!!! Love having my hands in bread dough too... So relaxing!
I see that you are baking a lot! It is so relaxing-) Don't you think?
it is relaxing indeed. :)
Mmmmm yum!! and strawberry chili jam! i never had that. Did you make it yourself? the breads look all divine. making bread is indeed meditiation. although i do not make it often.
yes, that strawberry jam is homemade. it was my first try, and came out very good I should say... :)
Your warm comments put a smile on my heart.
